Vietnam's e-commerce grows 22 percent annually
Electronic commerce in Vietnam has been growing at an average 22 percent a year, heard a conference on new trends of e-commerce on Tuesday in the country`s southern Dong Nai province.
According to the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM), over 40 percent of Vietnamese enterprises enjoy higher sale revenues thanks to e-commerce. About 52 percent of the Vietnamese population use the Internet, of whom 65 percent have purchased goods online.
VECOM vice president Nguyen Ngoc Dung said about 70 percent of consumers search the Internet for information about the goods they intend to purchase before going to the shop to buy the products. Therefore, a firm having no website will make it difficult for customers to access its products, he said.
