Vietnamese photographer wins FIAP silver award

A set of ten black and white photographs by Vietnamese artists has claimed the silver medal in the 32nd International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) Black and White Biennial in Turkey.

The photo collection titled Con Nguoi va Vat Nuoi (Man and Pet) scored 148 points, only two points lesser than the score of the gold medal winner, according to the Viet Nam Association of Photographic Artists.

The competition attracted 36 entries of different themes from 36 member countries and territories of the FIAP.

With 154 points, Bahrain won the World Cup, followed by Austria's gold medal. Certificates were given to Italy, Switzerland, Ireland and Sweden, as well as Macau and Turkey.

Of the nine individual awards, the photograph Quan Tam (Caring) by photographic artist Lam Thanh Liem of the southern Bac Lieu Province won the bronze medal.

The awards ceremony and display of the winning photographs will be held in Cappadocia, Turkey, from September 1 to 15 this year.
