General Secretary of the Vietnamese Communist Party Nguyen Phu Trong along with other Party and State leaders today [January 15] attended the opening ceremony of the 5th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly.

This extraordinary session is scheduled to take place over three days (January 15 – 18) at the National Assembly House. On January 17, the National Assembly will take a one-day break for its agencies, the Government, and relevant bodies to assimilate, adjust, and refine draft laws and resolutions.

During the 5th extraordinary session, the National Assembly will examine and approve the amended Draft Land Law, the amended Draft Credit Institutions Law, and the Draft Resolution on specific mechanisms and policies to overcome difficulties, obstacles, and expedite the progress of implementing national target programs in a streamlined manner.

Additionally, the National Assembly will review and supplement the mid-term central budget investment plan for the 2021-2025 period, allocated to tasks and public investment projects. They will also consider adding to the mid-term public investment plan for the Vietnam Electricity (EVN) from the reserve of the mid-term public investment plan.
