Vu The Phiet, head of the 69-member Vietnamese sporting team to the continent’s largest event for sports people with disabilities, said local athletes get ready and will do their best to claim glorious victory for the nation.
As scheduled, Vietnamese athletes will compete in track-and-field, swimming, weight-lifting, table tennis, badminton, bowling events from October 15-17 in the hope of winning 6-9 gold medals and ranking among top 15 in the medal tally.
In the first Asian Para Games in China, Vietnam came second among 41 participating nations with 3 gold, 4 silver and 10 bronze medals.
