Vietnamese film wins audience awards for length feature film at 2016 HANIFF

The Vietnamese film Jackpot directed by Dustin Nguyen won the audience award for length feature film at the fourth Hanoi International Film (HANIFF) that ended in Hanoi on November 5.
At the fourth Hanoi International Film (HANIFF) which closed in the capital city on November 5, Canadian film Remember won the best feature film award and its star Christopher Plummer grabbed the best actor award.
The Best Short Film award was presented to Mexico’s Three variations on Ofelia.

The best actress award was belonged to Hasmine Killip starring in the Philippines’ Ordinary people, and the best young short-film director was Pham Ngoc Lan of Vietnam with his film Another city. 
Vietnamese films Jackpot directed by Dustin Nguyen and Taxi, What's your name? co-directed by Do Duc Thinh and Dinh Tuan Vu won the audience awards for length feature film and best Vietnamese film, respectively. 
In addition, the festival also presented the jury award for short film, the jury special award for length feature film, the Hanoi award for length feature film, and one on the network for promotion of Asian & Asia - Pacific Cinema (NETPAC). 
The HANIFF 2016, themed “Cinema - Integration and sustainable development” aims to honour excellent films and talents and encourage a cooperative spirit between movie-makers for the development of the cinema industry.

The festival was jointly held by the Cinema Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism and Hanoi’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The festival’s categories were expanded to include all countries and territories. The organisers selected 146 films among 550 entries from 43 countries and territories to attend the festival. 
Other activities include an outdoor film screening in collaboration with a Vietnam - Italy fashion event, HANIFF Young Talent Campus, Project Market and workshops on film production cooperation in ASEAN and Indian cinema, among others.
