Vietnamese delegation won 3 gold medals at International Mathematics Competition
At the International Mathematics Competition (IMC) held in India, Vietnamese delegation has won prizes, including 1 championship trophy and 03 individual gold medals. All students winning the gold medals come from the Hanoi – Amsterdam High school for the gifted.
Under the permission of Ministry of Education & Training, Hanoi Education & Traning Department has sent a delegation consisting of 8 teachers and 24 students to represent Vietnam in this IMC. This is an annual international contest attended by teams from 40 countries. At last week’s IMC (from July 25-31) in the city of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh state, India, there were a total of 550 students aged between 14 and 17 from many regions and countries in the world participated in the contest.
Chief of Vietnam delegation, teacher Ha Vu Anh said, the Vietnam delegation has 6 teams including 4 teams of 6th and 7th grades, and 2 teams for 8th and 9th grade. At the teamwork challenge, Vietnam delegation won 6 prizes with one championship trophy. In particular, for the first time student Cao Thuy An won both the teamwork and individual prizes, while 4 other students won prizes in the IQ quiz.
Specifically, in the list of students won medals, in which 02 gold medals (for 6th and 7th grade teams) went to Cao Thuy An, Nguyen Nhat Minh. 7 silver medals went to Phung Huu Phuc, Hoang Quoc Bao, Nguyen Hoang Trung, Nguyen Nhat Minh, Le Dinh Anh, Vu Tien Dat and Dang Hai Anh. 5 students won bronze medals including Hoang Xuan Tung, Dang Minh Trung, Nguyen Le Duc Anh, Trinh Hoang Vu and Luong Thanh Chuong.
One gold medal (8th and 9th grade teams) went to Le Tran Cong Hung. 03 silver medals went to Nguyen Hoang An, Ngo Le Bach, Dinh Vu Tung Lam. And lastly, 4 bronze medals went to Nguyen Hoang An, Pham Ca Dat, Chu Cong Thanh and Phan Quang Anh.
