The Ministry of Planning and Investment held a start-up workshop on “Rolling-out of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Vietnam” in Hanoi on May 19.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York in September, 2015.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development sets out a global development vision and global partnership, along with actions required for sustainable development across the globe over the next 15 years.
The 2030 Agenda includes 17 goals and 169 specific targets to wipe out poverty, fight inequality and tackle climate change.

Vietnam has committed itself to supporting and participating in the implementation of the goals.
Addressing the workshop,

The Vietnamese Government always attaches great importance to sustainable development and has defined it as the constant goal of socio-economic development, focusing on poverty reduction, child care, health care, education and gender equality.
The country has been highly praised by the international community for its accomplishments in implementing Millennium Development Goals.
