Vietnam to introduce local tourism in Japan’s cities

The most attractive destinations in Vietnam for Japanese tourists are Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, a cluster of central cities including Hue – Da Nang – Hoi An and Mekong River Delta, among others.
A Vietnam tourism promotion program will take place in three Japanese cities namely Sapporo, Kanagawa, and Tokyo on September 6 to 15, Dai Bieu Nhan Dan newspapers reported.

Japan is among the largest Vietnam’s tourism source market as the number of Japanese arrivals to Vietnam keeps rising steadily, just after that from China and South Korea.

Recent statistics showed Vietnam welcomed 826,674 Japanese visitors in 2018, up 3.6% against 2017 and the figure for the first seven months of 2019 increased by 12.9% year-on-year.

The most attractive destinations in Vietnam for Japanese tourists are Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, a cluster of central cities including Hue – Da Nang – Hoi An and Mekong River Delta, among others. They also prefer visiting cultural places, world heritages and beaches.

Over the past years, Vietnam has promoted tourism in Japan via the annual Tourism Expo Japan in September in Tokyo and other tourism fairs.

Vietnam has also organized programs to introduce well-known Vietnamese destinations and held festivals to showcase handicraft products and performing arts representing Vietnamese traditional culture such as Ao Dai, water puppet show, among others in many big cities in Japan.

In the time ahead, Vietnam’s tourism promotion activities will target Japanese elderly, high-spending tourists and students as well as highlight the country’s resorts and heritage tours.
