Vietnam to host week for promotion of Made-in-Vietnam goods
Nhat Minh - Le Nam 01:32, 2020/10/17
Made-in-Vietnam Goods Week aims to promote the campaign "Vietnamese buy Vietnamese goods."

A Made-in-Vietnam Goods Week will be held at the Ly Thai To Square in Hanoi's center with the aim of encouraging local people to give preference to locally manufactured products.

Vietnamese Goods Week was held in 2018 in Thailand

One hundred booths at the event will be displaying Vietnamese major products such as coffee, tea, cashew nuts, pepper, seafood, garments and textiles, handbags, among others.

This time, Vietnamese goods week is the continuation of its other editions held in Thailand in four consecutive years from 2016 to 2019. It is held in Vietnam due to the impact of Covid-19.

The event takes place simultaneously in more than 200 stores and supermarkets across the country that belong to Thailand's Central Retail Group, including Go!, Big C, Robins, Nguyen Kim and LanChi.

The Covid-19 pandemic has drastically changed consumer behaviors, agricultural trade services and the market approach. For this reason, it is necessary to promote locally produced merchandise and improve their quality, said Nguyen Quoc Toan, director of the Department of Agro-Product Processing and Market Development under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, at a press conference on October 15.

Braving the challenges posed by Covid-19 in the world, Vietnam’s agricultural exports are still growing, and the cumulative export value of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in the first nine months reached more than US$30.05 billion. It is forecast that for the whole year, the country’s farm export will gross US$41 billion.
