According to Colonel Do Thanh Binh, deputy head of the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security, the service allows residents and businesses to register cars and motorcycles as well as pay registration tax online, regardless of time and administrative boundaries.
He added that people can access the Traffic Police Department's web portal (http://csgt.vn:8888/) to fill out forms, declare their means of transport, change the name of the vehicle’s owner or inform the police about car theft.
“The police will give feedback via email and phone. The online registration will reduce people's travel and waiting time in registration procedures and license issuance. Especially, the online registration will help reduce risk of spreading the Covid-19 disease," Binh said.
At the Traffic Police Department's web portal, people can realize different administrative procedures such as vehicle registration for the first time; registration for car ownership transfer; temporary registration; change, re-issue the vehicle registration certificate and license plate; revoking registration certificates or license plates.
Besides, people can report lost documents such as vehicle registration, license plates, vehicle records, expired cars, vehicles that have been damaged, vehicles that have been sold to other but ownership transfer has not been registered.
When the registration file is completed, people can choose to receive the answer by coming directly to police stations or by post.
