Vietnam and Thailand aim to bring bilateral trade value to US$15 billion by 2020.
The target was announced at an exchange between Vietnamese and Thai businesses in Ho Chi Minh City on May 14.
The event provided a good opportunity for the two business communities to meet, establish long-term cooperation and explore new potential.
Prasatsuk Niyomrat, an official from the Thailand Industry Promotion Agency, said the gathering helped businesses raise competitive edge on international markets by sharing production experience to meet the increasing demand of global importers.
Two-way trade turnover between the two countries rose 9% to US$9.4 billion last year.
Vietnam has so far invested in eight projects in Thailand worth more than US$12 million.
