The patient, born in central Ha Tinh province, is expected to fully recover and be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days.
Doctor Dao Van Giang from the hospital‘s Maxilo-Facial Department said the patient was hospitalised on February 17 suffering from severe lacerations to the face and a severed nose as a result of an accident.
“This is an extremely difficult surgery,” Giang shared, saying that he and his colleagues made every effort in reattaching the nose without any mistake that may do harm to the patient.
Doctor Do Ngoc Linh, Deputy Head of the Maxilo-Facial Department, said more than ten of such surgeries have so far been successfully conducted in the world, and this is the first case in Vietnam.
