In its recent report, Puma Energy - a global midstream and downstream oil company – has provided an overview on energy demand and growth in the Asia-Pacific region, including Vietnam.
The report, jointly conducted by Puma Energy and Llewellyn Consulting, indicates that the demand for energy in Asia-Pacific accounts for 40% of the world’s total figure. The region’s energy demand is predicted to rise to 50% in the next two decades.

Experts said despite Vietnam’s great efforts in overcoming difficulties caused by the global economic downturn, its economy has experienced modest growth since 2010.

They recommended Vietnam priotizing developing infrastructure and transport networks, as well as dealing with the shortage of energy to ensure sustainable growth rates.

In 2012, Puma Energy invested in a project providing asphalt products to help Vietnam improve transport infrastructure.

Robert Jones, CEO of Puma Energy, said his organization will continue to assist Vietnam in upgrading traffic network and developing fields such as oil and gas exploitation, and petroleum production.
