Vietnamese and Russian painters are showcasing more than 80 works at the fifth joint art exhibition called ‘Handshake Again’ at the HCM City Fine Arts Museum on March 4-12.
The annual exchange programme between Vietnamese and Russian painters was initiated by Associated Professor and Dr Olga Zotova from Russian Far Eastern Federal University and painter Bui Van Quang, head of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, Khanh Hoa branch.
Quang said this year, painters from Vietnam’s south-central and Central Highland provinces and HCM City and Russia’s Magadan, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok cities were invited to join the event.
The participating painters exchanged opinions on arts and culture of the two countries during their outdoor painting trips at fishing villages and small islands in Vietnam’s NhaTrang city and Russia’s Vladivostok city.
Consul General Alexey V Popov told a press conference in HCM City the same day that he will hold a meeting to introduce the exhibition and a get-together with painters at his home.
