State President Vo Van Thuong made remarks during his meeting with King Charles III as he attended the latter’s coronation.
Thuong congratulated the King, Queen, and the British Royal Family and People on behalf of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam. The President expressed confidence in the growth and prosperity of Great Britain and Northern Ireland under the reign of King Charles III.
He stressed that Vietnam places great importance on enhancing the Vietnam-UK Strategic Partnership and hopes for continued active support from the King and Royal Family in promoting multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
He extended his invitation for the King to visit Vietnam at a suitable time.
King Charles III expressed appreciation for the Vietnamese senior leaders' affection and deep concern for him and the Royal Family, highlighting Vietnam's achievements in socio-economic development, positive external relations, and commitment to net zero emissions by 2050.
The King emphasized his strong personal support for cooperation against climate change and the significant contribution of AstraZeneca Group's investment of US$50 million in restoring forests and landscapes in Vietnam.

The King affirmed the British Royal Family's continual attention and support for the renovation and development of Vietnam, along with the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership. As the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations approaches in 2023, the King hopes to further strengthen relations between the two nations in the next 50 years.
In a meeting with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the prime minister expressed great potential for cooperation between the UK and Vietnam and his hope to strengthen ties with Vietnam. He also thanked Vietnam for supporting the UK's negotiation process to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
On this occasion, State President Vo Van Thuong met with several world leaders, including the Presidents of the Philippines, France, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland, as well as the Governors-General of Australia and New Zealand. The leaders greatly appreciated Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements and valued their good and effective relations with Vietnam.
State President Vo Van Thuong and the leaders of these countries and international organizations agreed to make concerted efforts to promote bilateral relations with Vietnam, contributing to peace and the common development of the region and the world.
