Vietnam, China join hands for economic and trade 

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien and Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao co-chaired the 13th session of the Vietnam-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee in China on September 29.

Vietnam and China urged stronger cooperation in production and supply chains, green transportation, industrial parks, power projects, farm produce trade, and in e-commerce.

Vietnamese enterprises seek cooperation in ASEAN 

Vietnamese businesses have joined the Asia Economic Cooperation Forum 2024 held in Malaysia this week to seek cooperation with those from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Hong Kong (China).

Enterprises from ASEAN countries also showcased their products, exchanged and shared entrepreneurial thinking in the new technology era, strategies for becoming global companies, and solutions to enhance competitiveness.

First-ever Vietnam fruit festival opens in China

The first-ever Vietnam fruit festival opened in Beijing, China, on September 29.

The two-day festival promotes trade exchanges between Vietnamese businesses and Chinese fruit importers and distributors, a product experience programme, and a seminar on the potential for Vietnamese fruit exports.

Vietnamese spring roll produced on French automated technology line

France’s Bretinov company this week inaugurated the first-ever automated Vietnamese spring roll production line, which is the combination of modern French technology and traditional Vietnamese cuisine.

With an investment of around EUR3 million (US$3.35 million), the production line is fully automated, capable of producing up to 2,500 rolls per hour with just one operator.

Innovative initiative enhances financial literacy among students

 

Over 15,000 students from 27 universities are competing in "The Moneyverse," Vietnam’s first financial education reality show, airing on VTV3 from September 29. The program teaches money management, smart investing, and avoiding financial scams, with three finalists competing for a VND1 billion (US$41,000) prize and potential jobs in top financial institutions.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh launches new expressway to boost regional connectivity

 

The Hoa Binh-Moc Chau expressway, a new 34 km expressway costing nearly VND10 trillion (US$410 million), was launched on September 29 in the attedance of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. This is the first expressway in Hoa Binh, featuring the Hoa Son cable-stayed bridge with Vietnam’s longest span and tallest tower. The project aims to enhance infrastructure, connecting the Northwest with other regions, and is set for completion by 2028. 

China corp to invest $168M in Thai Binh auto plants

 

Tasco-Geely joint venture plans to invest US$168 million in two auto manufacturing plants in Thai Binh, spanning 30 hectares with a capacity of 75,000 units annually. The factories, starting operations in 2026, will produce Geely and Lynk & Co vehicles for domestic and international markets.
