Con Son-Kiep Bac festival promotes Hai Duong culture
An event to promote the culture and tourism of the northern province of Hai Duong was held at the Con Son-Kiep Bac Relic Site from September 18 to 22. Recognized as a national relic in 1962 and a special national relic in 2012, the relic is closely associated with national hero Tran Quoc Tuan (1228-1300) and world great man of culture Nguyen Trai (1380-1442), reflecting Vietnam's historical, cultural, and religious values.

UN Special Rapporteur praises Vietnam's progress
Surya Deva, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the right to development, on September 18 highly praised Vietnam's progress in economic development and implementation of social security programs. Speaking at a meeting of the UN Human Rights Council in Switzerland, he affirmed that the Southeast Asian country had achieved several important goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, such as poverty reduction, access to clean water, resilient infrastructure development, and innovation.

National Martial Arts Championship 2024 opens with record participation
As many as 650 martial artists from 32 provinces will participate in the 33rd National Traditional Martial Arts Championship 2024, which opened in the central highland province of Gia Lai on September 17, marking a record number of participants. Vietnam climbs 15 places in UN's EGDI
Vietnam has moved up 15 places to rank 71st among 193 countries in the 2024 edition of the United Nations (UN) E-Government Development Index (EGDI), the Ministry of Information and Communication announced on September 18.
With a score of 0.7709 in the EGDI, Vietnam is listed in the very high EGDI group. This reflects the country's success in strengthening digital infrastructure, expanding internet connectivity, and implementing robust digital government frameworks, the UN said.
