Vietnam showcases its culture at the 2024 UN Bazaar in Geneva

Vietnam joined the 2024 UN Bazaar in Geneva with two booths displaying its culture, cuisine and handicrafts. Organized annually by the UN Women's Guild since 1968, the event raises funds to support disadvantaged children and disaster relief efforts. Vietnam's active participation highlights its commitment to global humanitarian initiatives and strengthens its international reputation.

Agricultural innovation fosters international partnerships in Hanoi

The international expo AgroViet 2024, which runs until November 23 in Hanoi, features 256 booths representing 100 exhibitors from Vietnam and abroad. The event showcases various agricultural products, OCOP items, and modern machinery, highlighting specialties such as ST25 rice and Chi Lang custard-apple. With participants from China, Korea, and Australia, the exhibition emphasizes "Green Agriculture, Circular Economy" while promoting trade, cooperation, and sustainable growth.

China, Vietnam temporarily open cross-border routes to boost trade

China and Vietnam recently temporarily opened two cross-border routes to promote travel, trade and cultural exchanges. These key routes connect Malipo County (China's Yunnan Province) with Nghia Thuan Commune (Ha Giang Province) and Yang Wan County (China's Hebei Province) with Bach Dich Commune (Ha Giang Province), promoting cooperation and connectivity between border communities.

Vietnam re-elected to UNCITRAL

Vietnam has been re-elected to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) for the 2025-2031 term, securing 175 out of 183 votes in the November 20 election. This is Vietnam's second term in this role after a successful tenure from 2019 to 2025, reaffirming its international credibility. Vietnam is committed to participating in negotiations and shaping fair and transparent trade policies.

Vietnam launches elephant conservation plan for 2035, vision 2050

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced the Vietnam Elephant Conservation Action Plan Toward 2035, Vision 2050 (VECAP 2022) on November 20. With wild elephant numbers declining to less than 200 individuals, the plan emphasizes harmonious coexistence, preventing human-elephant conflict, and protecting biodiversity.

Fifty-two Vietnamese students receive scholarships to study in Australia

Fifty-two Vietnamese students have been awarded scholarships to study in Australia in fields such as agriculture, digital transformation, climate change, energy and healthcare. With more than 7,500 scholarships awarded to Vietnamese recipients to date, the program has helped alumni advance their careers, contribute to socio-economic development, and strengthen Vietnam-Australia relations.

Vietnam-China to boost trade with online pavilion for agricultural products

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development launched Vietnamese agricultural products on online platforms in China on November 20, aiming to boost consumption of Vietnamese agricultural products in the world's most populous market. From January to September, Vietnam's agricultural exports to China rose 3% on-year to US$44.4 billion. The two countries have signed protocols to export frozen durian, fresh coconut and crocodiles.

Coastal heritage links culture and sustainability in Vietnam

The museums of port city Haiphong and Quang Ninh Province have opened exhibitions showcasing archaeological finds, local festivals, and folk performances through more than 200 artifacts and images. As part of the series of activities to celebrate Vietnam's Cultural Heritage Day, the event highlights Hai Phong-Quang Ninh's cooperation in preserving the Ha Long Bay-Cat Ba Archipelago and promoting sustainable development of cultural heritage. With the theme "Colors of Coastal Cultural Heritage", the exhibition will run until November 30.
