Discover latest technology at MTA Vietnam 2024

The 20th International Precision Engineering, Machine Tools and Metalworking Exhibition and Conference (MTA Vietnam 2024) kicked off on July 2 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The four-day event features a wide range of products including metal cutting, metal forming, metrology, cutting tools, ancillaries, and equipment. The exhibition gathers more than 320 exhibitors from Taiwan (China), Germany, South Korea, Singapore, China, Italy, and other countries. It is a good opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to learn from international experience, and seek business partnerships and technology transfer.

Vietnam among top countries investing in renewable energy 

Vietnam is listed in the top 10 countries having the biggest investment in renewable energy with an amount of US$7.4 billion. The investment enables Vietnam to rank 4th globally in renewable energy development.

The news is included in the Vietnamese government's National Green Growth Strategy for 2021-2030, which aims to develop a green economy in the long term with policies to promote green models in agriculture, industry, renewable energy, and greenhouse gas reduction.

Danang promotes educational cooperation with Japanese city

Deputy Chairwoman of Danang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi held a working meeting on July 3 with a delegation from Japan's Nagasaki Prefectural University led by Satomi Iwashige, Vice Rector for strategy and international relations at the university.

The two sides have launched an internship program focusing on international student exchange from 2013 to 2027. Nagasaki Prefecture has made many contributions to promoting friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, as well as between Danang and Japanese localities in recent years.

Ninh Binh listed in the world's top 10 best travel experiences

The world's largest travel guide platform TripAdvisor has announced its Travelers' Choice Awards Best of the Best Things to Do 2024, and the "Full-Day Ninh Binh Highlights Tour from Hanoi" was included in the list of Top 10 Experiences in the World.

Visitors will visit Hoa Lu, the former capital of Vietnam, explore the Mua Cave and take in the views from the mountain above, take a boat ride through the Tam Coc Caves, and bike through the fields to the Bich Dong Cave Buddhist Temples. The tour includes a restaurant lunch and small group transfers by limousine minivan.

Ho Chi Minh City real estate revenue increases in H1

Revenue from real estate business activities in Ho Chi Minh City in the first half of 2024 is estimated at US$4.8 billion, up 6.1% year on year. Of this, revenue from the housing sector reached nearly US$280 million, compared to $180 million last year. In the past six months, 570 businesses were licensed to operate with a total registered capital of about US$1 billion, down 17.3% and up 4.1%, respectively.

Haiphong leads first-tier cities in economic growth

The northern city of Haiphong led central cities in economic growth in the first six months of the year, Le Anh Quan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Haiphong City People's Committee, said at a meeting on July 3. In the first half of the year, the city's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is expected to increase by more than 10% year-on-year. The city's total fiscal revenue is estimated to reach nearly US$2.4 billion, up nearly 35% year-on-year.

Vietnam and France cooperate in film production
A seminar titled "French Cinema and Its Relationship with Vietnamese Cinema" was held on July 3 during the 2nd Danang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF 2), highlighting the historical and ongoing ties between the two countries' film industries and efforts to strengthen their cooperation and mutual influence. Experts discussed various topics, including French films about Vietnam and artistic film production in the context of globalization. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ta Quang Dong emphasized the importance of this event for the development of both French and Vietnamese cinema.
