Vietnam named Asia’s Leading Destination for second consecutive year
Other good news for Vietnam’s tourism industry is that the country is currently the number one candidate for the “Asia`s best golf destination” prize at The World Golf Awards.
Vietnam has been selected as “Asia’s Leading Destination” category in 2019 for the second year in a row at the World Travel Awards (WTA), the de facto “Oscar” award for the tourism industry.
Besides, Vietnam won in other three categories at the WTA ceremony for Asia and Oceania held in the country’s Phu Quoc island last weekend including "Asia’s Leading Culinary Destination" and "Asia’s Leading Cultural Destination" while the title "Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination" was given to the ancient town of Hoi An.
Although Vietnam has received significant praise from some of the world’s leading culinary magazines and prestigious chefs, this is the first time the country gained this honor.
WTA’s founder Graham Cooke stressed that the prizes will help Vietnam promote its culture and cuisine internationally.
This is the first time Vietnam was granted a culinary title from WTA and it is a worthy achievement of the country’s tourism industry, said Cooke.
Vietnam was nominated for six “world’s leading” categories in this year award including the “World’s Leading Culinary Destination 2019”, showing the country’s profile has continuously been promoted in the world’s tourism map.
Other good news for Vietnam’s tourism industry is that the country is currently the number one candidate for the “Asia's best golf destination” prize at The World Golf Awards to be held in Abu Dhabi by the end of this October. Vietnam has gained this title for two consecutive years previously.
