The digital workforce platform is expected to be a useful tool to address these challenges and support Vietnam's digital transformation.

Vietnam has unveiled a new digital workforce platform to address the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The platform aims to bolster the growth of digital talent within the country, aligning with the evolving needs of the digital era.

This is part of the “Vietnam Workforce for an Innovation and Startup Ecosystem” (USAID WISE) program between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the National Innovation Center (NIC) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

The partnership program, announced on June 21, provides various training courses for teachers from schools across the country in areas such as cybersecurity, Python programming, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.

The development of the Digital Workforce Platform is also one of the program's activities to synthesize and share information on job positions, salaries, required skills, and certificates related to information technology and communications (ICT).

Vietnam is facing a significant shortage of high-quality digital human resources in the ICT sector. In the context of Vietnam's promotion of the National Strategy for the Fourth Industrial Revolution by 2030, the need to bridge and address this gap is becoming increasingly urgent.

NIC has signed cooperation agreements with three renowned human resources companies in Vietnam, namely Navigos/Vietnamworks, TopCV, and JobHopin.

According to NIC Director Vu Quoc Huy, it is working with USAID WISE to build the Digital Workforce Platform. This is also one of the first platforms to provide detailed information on human resources in the ICT sector.

Huy believes the platform will provide the most comprehensive knowledge about the labor market. It will guide and create future career development trends for young people. Employers can also adjust and utilize their human resources effectively and to market fluctuations.

As part of the launch event, a seminar titled "The Future of Jobs in the Digital Economy" was conducted, bringing together experts, speakers from recruitment agencies, and renowned technology companies. The seminar aimed to address pressing concerns in the market, including the impact of emerging technologies on the job market and workforce. Additionally, it focused on equipping young workers with the necessary skills to adapt to evolving demands and changes in the industry.
