The program helps to foster cultural exchange, stimulate creativity and connect young people from Vietnam and Korea.

An exhibition titled “Quintessence of Vietnamese - Korean Fine Arts” is taking place at the Hanoi Museum on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1992-2022).

The exhibition features 300 works by Vietnamese and Korean artists, including 19 artists who are members of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association (born between 1939 and 1971) and eight others from the Korean Institute of Fine Arts Enuam.

Typical Vietnamese artists are Vu Trong Thuan, Hoang Dang Nhuan, Truong Be, Trinh Thanh Tung, Nguyen Lam, Ho Huu Thu, Duong Sen, Vu Duong, Hoang Dang and Lam Huynh. Meanwhile, painters from Korea include Han Heewon, Chae Jongkee, Lee Johnlip, Rhim Chongho, Lee Hoguk, Jeong ChulKyo, Choi In-ho, and Kim Sungnam.

In addition, the exhibition also showcases a collection of 200 paintings by collector Nguyen Tien Luan, president of Hanoi's Nguyen Trai University.

According to the organizers, the exhibition aims to inspire creativity among young people in Korea and Vietnam, especially among students. This is also an opportunity to promote Vietnamese culture and people among Korean friends and, at the same time, through painting, help locals better understand the Republic of Korea and its people.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Dr. Nguyen Tien Luan, president of Nguyen Trai University and vice chairman of the Vietnam-Korea Friendship Association, affirmed that the Vietnam-Korea friendship has reaped many remarkable successes over the past 30 years.

I believe that the "Quintessence of Vietnamese-Korean Fine Arts" exhibition will contribute to affirming the close friendship between the people of Vietnam and Korea," Luan said.

He also hopes that after its premiere at the Hanoi Museum, it will become an annual exhibition to be displayed at Hanoi Nguyen Trai University.

At their meeting in early December, Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol welcomed the fact that both sides agreed to upgrade their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Previously, President Yoon Seok Yul had stated that Vietnam and South Korea had a "marital" relationship.

The exhibition will last until March 31, 2023 at Hanoi Museum, Pham Hung Street, Me Tri Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi.
