Vietnam-Israel friendship concert opens in Hanoi
A Vietnam-Israel friendship concert was held at the Hanoi Opera House on March 22 on the occasion of ongoing visit of Israeli President Reuven Ruvi Rivlin and his spouse to Vietnam from March 19-25.

The event was also attended by Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Meirav Eilon Shahar, Vice President DangThi Ngoc Thinh, Chairman of the President’s Office Dao Viet Trung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien and Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Hong Nam.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Meirav Eilon Shahar said that the Israeli President’s visit is implemented when the Vietnam-Israel relationship is growing fruitfully with close cooperation in multifaceted areas.
After 24 years of diplomatic ties, Vietnam and Israel have become important partners in the fields of State diplomacy, economic cooperation and people-to-people exchange, the diplomat stressed.
Israel is proud to be a partner of Vietnam in knowledge sharing and technology transfer, with a belief that human resourcesare the key factor for sustainable growth of each country, Ambassador Shahar said.
Israel has provided a number of training courses for Vietnam in various fields, including agriculture, water management, food security, education, and business startup, she added.
The ambassador emphasised that the concert clearly shows the two countries' close cultural exchanges that have been established over the recent years.
Speaking at the event, Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien also highlighted the development ofthe friendship and collaboration between the two countries over the past 24 years in various fields, including culture and art.
Participants at the concert enjoyed performances of conductor and artists from Israel and the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra under the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
