Vietnam holds a national meeting to mark World Environment Day 2015
The national meeting in response to the World Environment Day (June 5) was held by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Vietnam Farmer’s Association and the Vietnam Association of the Elderly in the northern province of Vinh Phuc on June 5.
Attending the event were Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and representatives of ministries, sectors and localities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai stressed that the national economic development path is based on efficiently utilising natural resources, fuel and energy.
Environmental protection has become a major challenge for the community, especially in rural areas and craft villages.
The Deputy PM called on individuals, organisations and businesses to make practical contributions to protecting the environment towards natural resource efficiency and sustainable development.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment called upon ministries, sectors and localities to promote consumption of environmentally-friendly products and increase awareness-raising campaigns.

In the same day, a meeting in response the World Environment Day 2015 was organized at the square of the My Dinh Stadium and a ceremony to launch the "Green Day - Green City" program with specific and practical activities was also held in Hanoi.
