Vietnam and Cuba will work closely together in book publishing under a Memorandum of Understanding signed in Hanoi on March 26.
The signatories were the Ministry of Information and Communications’ Department of Publishing and Printing and the Cuban Ministry of Culture’s Book Institute.
Accordingly, each side will assign two representatives to update the other on its progress and discuss joint projects. Free copyright of five book titles will be granted to each other every two years.
They have also committed to facilitating links among publishers, particularly in technical assistance and experience sharing.
President of the Cuban Book Institute Zuleica Romay Guerra said her organisation will introduce Vietnamese editions of Cuban books at the Cuba book fair, slated for February 2015, expressing hope that Vietnam will join the event.
