Vietnam and Laos seeks closer sci-tech cooperation

At the same time, through the joint research missions, the two sides also coordinate to review and update the system of legal documents that serve as the legal framework for science and technology development, Anh said.
A forum connecting the supply and demand of Vietnam – Laos technology has just been launched. This activity attracted much interest of enterprises, institutes, schools and achieved impressive results, Ngoc Anh added.
For his part, Lao Minister of Science and Technology Boviengkham Vongdara thanked the Vietnamese Party, state and people for their support to Laos in all fields of socio-economic development as well as Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam’s support for the development of Laos’ Ministry of Science and Technology.
The two sides will continue to maintain and seek opportunities to increase exchange activities at all levels to implement cooperation agreements signed between functional units of the two ministries, Boviengkham Vongdara stressed.
Regarding the joint research missions, the two sides will continue to effectively implement the tasks of cooperation in scientific research and technological development between the two countries in order to raise the research capacity of Lao officials and strengthen the facilities for Lao research organizations, Boviengkham Vongdara added.
He hopes the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam will support the Ministry of Science and Technology of Laos to operate the Science and Technology Institute in Laos.
