"Vietnam and Japan: Cultural Exchange" book wins the best research award
The book "Vietnam and Japan: Cultural Exchange" was honoured as the best research book at the recent award ceremony for the Good Book Awards 2015 held in HCM City.
The Good Book Awards were divided into seven categories, including: research, education, economics, management, literature, children’s and new discovery.
This year, the book Viet Nam va Nhat Ban – Giao Luu Van Hoa (Cultural Exchange between Vietnam and Japan) by Vinh Sinh won the best research award.
The book was one of the 13 by writers and translators nationwide to receive the award.
According to researcher Bui Van Nam Son - head judge of this category, Sinh's book provides a great deal of useful information and scientific evidence and reveals the similarities and differences between the Vietnamese and Japanese cultures.
The Good Books Awards is an annual event which is jointly organised by the Institute for Research of Education Development and the Phan Chau Trinh Fund.
It was initiated to recognise and honour authors, translators and publishers with their Vietnamese works that have contributed to expanding and enhancing the body of literature and knowledge available to the world in Vietnamese.
Launched in 2011, the awards also aim to encourage the creation of high-quality literature in Vietnamese, spread the values of good books and cultivate a reading habit in society.
The organising board selected 40 outstanding works to introduce and recommend to readers for the first time.
