Vietnam Ambassador visits San Francisco Bay Area

Vietnam Ambassador to the US Pham Quang Vinh met with California State Senator Mark Leno and City of San Francisco Supervisor David Chiu on October 21 to discuss trade and investment opportunities.

At the meeting in San Francisco, Vinh affirmed that Vietnam wants to cooperate with California in an expansive list of fields including science, technology, agriculture, climate change adaptation and people-to-people exchanges.

On the same day, Vinh met with representatives of the Overseas Vietnamese (OVs) community and applauded their significant contributions to both the State of California and the homeland.

He expressed his hope that the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) would be ratified by the US and his belief that it would be a cornerstone for the future prosperity of both nations delivering enormous benefits.

In addition, Ambassador Vinh got a taste of San Francisco history and a glimpse of the centuries-old brewing traditions of the city, visiting Anchor Brewing Company known for its German craft beer for over 100 years.
