VFF honours Olympiad medal winners

A ceremony was held on November 3 in Hanoi to honour students, who won medals at International Olympiads and recorded highest results at 2014 university entrance exams.
President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan presented Prime Minister’s certificates of merit to 11 students, who won gold Olympiad medals.
In addition, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) granted its certificates of merit to 24 others who bagged silver and bronze medals and certificates of merit at international and regional competitions, five students awarded fourth prize at the Intel Science Competition and 10 others who recorded highest results at university entrance exams in 2014.
They were also awarded more than VND400 million in cash.
Twenty educational officials and teachers who taught and guided awardees received MoET’s certificates of merit.
At the awards ceremony, Nhan encouraged students to make greater efforts to become future talented scientists, economists and technicians and contribute to the national development.
