Hanoi Times – The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will provide US$ 1.375 million to help improve the capability of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA).
A project to the effect was signed in Hanoi on January 24 by UNDP Country Director Setssuko Yamazaki and VUSTA Vice President and Secretary General Ho Uy Liem.
The project, which will be carried out from now until 2011, is designed to help the VUSTA protect the benefits of its members through consultation and supervision of the Government’s policies, programs and projects.
It is also intended to help improve the union’s transparency and its effectiveness in regulating its members’ activities in order to build a sustainable relationship among its members and between its members and the Government’s agencies and international organizations.
