The multilingual version targets foreigners, who are international students, immigrants, and tourists in Ulsan. It also aims to promote the city.
The foreign language versions of Ulsan City News include 11 languages, such as English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Khmer, and Russian, among others.
The first issue was released in late January on the inauguration of the Foreign Resident Support Center and the commitment of Ulsan city’s mayor to changing policies in 2023, as well as the dissemination of its main tourist attractions.
The introduction of the multilingual version is expected to help foreigners living in the city to receive information in their native language.
Ulsan is the seventh largest city in South Korea. The number of foreign residents in the city is around 4,500, which will account for nearly 7.3% of the total population of more than 1.1 million in 2022.
