Typhoon leaves trail of destruction in northern provinces

Typhoon Rammasun has led to the flooding of many northern provinces of Viet Nam, and the deaths of at least 11 people, while several are missing.

The total damage caused by the storm has not been reported yet, but many people have lost their homes, landslides are blocking several roads and hundreds of hectares of rice and other crops have been damaged.

The local authorities are trying to repair the damage and help residents resume normal life. Viet Nam News shows the aftermath of the typhoon through some photos:
Typhoon Rammasun made landfall in the northern mountain province of Son La on the night of July 19-20, according to the provincial Search, Rescue and Flood Prevention Steering Committee. The storm has led to the flooding of the road leading to Quynh La District and of many areas of subsidiary crops. It has also damaged houses and caused landslides on many roads.
