Two fallen police generals face up to 12 years in jail
The pair were accused of infringing state regulations, allowing property tycoon Phan Van Anh Vu, aka Vu Nhom, to profit from public land appropriation.
Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security (MPS) has prosecuted two high-ranking officers who involved in property tycoon Phan Van Anh Vu, causing a loss worth VND1 trillion (US$43.5 million) to state assets.

Anyone who is charged with this crime under the Penal Code would face a punishment up to 12 years behind bars.
The pair were accused of infringing state regulations on disclosure of classified information; signing, without being authorized, decisions related to land management, allowing property tycoon Phan Van Anh Vu (Vu Nhom) to profit from public land appropriation.
Earlier in July, Thanh was dismissed and degraded to Colonel.
In August, Tan was removed from the post of deputy minister for the 2011-2016 term.
Obviously, the two men are no longer police officers at the time of being probed.
The prosecution is part of the investigation expansion of Vu-relatedcase.
So far, nine senior officers and officials have been investigated or probed for involving in the property tycoon, including a deputy chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, and two chairmen of the Danang People’s Committee.
