Traditional craft festival kicks off in Hoi An

The event has taken place in Hoi An city as part of activities to celebrate 15th anniversary of the recognition of Hoi An ancient town as a World Cultural Heritage.
From December 2 to 4, the first Hoi An- Republic of Korea (RoK) fine art and handicraft exchange festival has been held by Hoi An city and Gwuangju city of the RoK in Hoi An city, the central province of Quang Nam.
 
 
On December 2, the city in collaboration with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and RoK artisans to hold a seminar on developing fine arts and handicrafts in the two cities, as part of the event.
During the event, a large number of Hoi An traditional crafts are showcased such as lanterns, ceramics, carpentry, knitting and silk, etc.
Besides Hoi An traditional crafts, Gwangju (RoK) traditional crafts are also displayed including weaving, papermaking and bamboo art. 
Moreover, coming to the event, travellers both locals and foreigners can enjoy traditional art performances every night.
A photo exhibiton on Hoi An’s world cultural heritage has also been organized, which help tourists understand more about the world cultural heritage. 
The Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Truong Van Bay said that the event aims to enhance culture and traditional crafts between the two cities.
