For his part, Japanese Vice Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City Yoshinori Yakabe highlighted the growing economic ties between the two countries with the increasing volume of Japanese firms in Vietnam.
The firms have played a vital role in developing Vietnam and strengthening the bilateral relationship, he added, hoping that the scholarship recipients would study hard for the future of Vietnam and bilateral ties with Japan.
Launched in 2005, the programme has granted scholarships to more than 400 postgraduates at the VNU-HCMC and VNU Hanoi.
