The new terminal will serve 10-15 million passengers a year by 2020. Afterwards the Government will consider building two more terminals to increase the capacity of the airport to 50 million passengers per year.
The 12.1 km long road to connect the Nhat Tan Bridge and the Noi Bai International Airport is expected to cut the distance between the Noi Bai International Airport and the inner city of Ha Noi from the current 30 km to only 15 km.
The US$245 million project was funded by Japan.
