The sole survivor of Flight 474 accident return to Vietnam
Annette Herfkens, the author of book “192 Hours memoirs", will return to O Kha Mountain in Son Trung Commune, Khanh Son District where she faced death.
Annette Herfkens, the sole survivor of Vietnam Airlines Flight 474 which crashed in the mountainous jungle en route to Nha Trang airport on November 14, 1992, visited Ho Chi Minh City on August 11 to promote her book “192 Hours memoirs” retelling the horrific tragedy.
At a reception at Tan Son Nhat international airport, representative from HCM City -based publisher First News presented her with a Vietnamese version of “192 hours” translated by An Dien.
During her visit, Annette will return to O Kha Mountain in Son Trung Commune, Khanh Son District where she faced death on August 13 to pay tribute to the unlucky victims who accompanied heron the flight. Afterwards, she and her daughter will visit with family members of the Mi-8 crew who lost their lives during search and rescue efforts.
Annette Herfkens was born in Venezuela to a Dutch family. She was raised in the Netherlands, where she studied law at Leiden University. She is living with her family in New York City and works in the banking sector.
