The nostagic beauty of Hanoi streets in sketches
Jenna Duong 05:58, 2024/03/19
The tranquil beauty of Chau Long Street in downtown Hanoi is rendered vividly in sketch paintings.

The sketch painting exhibition entitled “Awakening The Architectural Beauty of Chau Long Street Through the Perspective of Urban Sketching" is on display at the Van Xuan Flower Garden, Quan Thanh Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi until March 24.

This is the result of the Hanoi-themed sketch drawing contest launched by Urban Sketchers Hanoi Group.

According to artist Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, founder of Urban Sketchers Hanoi, the exhibition focuses on discovering and recreating the unique beauty of Chau Long Street through the perspectives of many street sketchers of different ages.

Founded in 2016 by a group of architects including Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Dinh Hai, Chu Quoc Binh and Nguyen Hoang Lam. Urban Sketchers Hanoi aims to preserve Hanoi’s beauty and spread their love for the city to the community through sketching, raising awareness for the protection and promotion of Hanoi's heritage and cultural values.

The group's founders depict the city's culture, history, art and architecture in their paintings, especially the precious ancient works in the process of urbanization.

The exhibition will continue at the Ngu Xa night food street from March 30 to April 7.
