The Capital sets project on conducting popularization in 2018-2027 period

The Hanoi People’s Committee has recently issued Plan 229/KH-UBND on implementing project “Conducting popularization and encouraging women to take part in solving women-related social problems in the 2018-2027 period” in the Capital City.
Under the plan, the project will be implemented in 10 years (from 2018 to 2027), and divided into two phases as following:


The first period lasts from 2018 to 2022, and focuses on activities to enhance and improve the quality of popularization, education, encouragement and support for women, help them improve their awareness, knowledge and skills of issues in framework of the project; building typical models and samples; considering and proposing policies to handle social affairs related to women; increasing cooperation with authorities to solve social problems related to women.

The second period is from 2023 to 2027, and focuses on helping women change their behaviors through the established samples and models; bringing their activeness into full strength to solve relevant social problems; considering and suggesting policies. Further orientation to reach targets will be given at the end of the period.


 
For the 2018 - 2022 period, Hanoi will provide information and knowledge to 400,000 members, women and parents of children under 16 years old, focusing on practicing virtue and sense of law observance, educating them on parenthood, capacity and role of the women in increasing food safety, preventing and fighting gender-based violence.

80% of specialized staffs of agencies dealing with the project will attend training to improve their qualification and professional skills, thus helping the women deal with several social affairs; conduct popularization and education, and support 1,000 unskilled, unqualified women, women at risk or women having ethical and legal violations of social burning issues, thus helping them get significant progress in behaviors.

100,000 women will be provided with knowledge and skills to prevent and fight gender violence and domestic violence, and ready to raise their voice in case of violence. There will be no case of abuse and violence against women and girls in which the Association does not react timely. Each commune, ward or town will build at least one model to encourage, support women to handle and supervise social affairs; priority is given to the models which can be applied further.
