The American veteran beautifies the streets of Hanoi
For nearly 3 years, Ms. Paul George Harding and nearly 40 people have repaired and repainted many advertisement painted wall in Hanoi.
Nearly 50 years after the war, the American veteran - Paul George Harding (69 years old) returned to Vietnam. In addition to teaching English for free to students, he also encouraged them to remove advertising leaflets on the wall, electricity poles ... along many streets.
Paul George Harding was a paratrooper of the 173rd Air Force Brigade joining the Binh Dinh-Lam Dong battlefield in 1969. Upon his retirement, he came to Vietnam to make up for his wartime actions. He considers free teaching and beautifying the walls as his happiness.

He set up a volunteer team to repaint the musty, peeled and stained wall along with those filled with advertising leaftlets in the area of Trung Hoa Ward, Cau Giay District.
|
The team has cleaned four big streets. The walls will be painted and patterned accordingly. He said before remodeling, the team would contact the authorities and call the advertisers to prevent them from this illegal activity.
