Taiwan-based Inventec's Chairman He Daishui gave the remarks during a meeting with Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh today [March 3].

During the meeting, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh expressed his appreciation for the Taiwanese businesses' investment in Hanoi. He acknowledged that INVENTEC's expertise aligns with Hanoi's foreign investment policies and objectives.

He further assured the group that the city would provide favorable conditions for their investment activities, including the upcoming project at HANSSIP.

INVENTEC Chairman expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and mentioned the group's vast experience in developing equipment and components through research and production centers in Taiwan, China, and other parts of the world.

He said the group aims to expand its production activities to various locations globally, including Vietnam, to keep up with the trend of production restructuring.

Vietnam market, Hanoi in particular, is one of the key investment destinations of the group with the immediate goal of a hi-tech support project at HANSSIP, he said.

INVENTEC's representative added that the preparation for this project has been going on for the past few years. The group has invested in Quang Minh Industrial Park in Me Linh since July 2022 – considered the first step in making its presence in Hanoi.

The leaders of INVENTEC expressed their desire for the city government to provide support in promoting the progress and administrative procedures for their investment and project implementation. They also hoped for smooth entry for the group's foreign experts for technology transfer.

At the same time, he proposed using solar batteries for green energy in the group's factories and production facilities.

Hanoi's mayor agreed with the proposals and stated that Hanoi always welcomes foreign-invested projects, especially in the high-tech sector.

According to Thanh, Hanoi possesses excellent facilities and human resources that have attracted investment from prominent corporations such as LG and Samsung, which have established their R&D centers in the city.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the municipal People's Committee assigned the relevant departments, agencies, and branches to support the proposals put forth by INVENTEC. The focus will be on expediting procedures for the group's projects and facilitating the entry of foreign experts for the development of green energy deployment in INVENTEC production facilities.

INVENTEC's investment project in the HANSSIP is anticipated to be fully operational in the second quarter of 2024, creating around 20,000 to 25,000 permanent jobs. The project aims to establish a research and development complex, supply chain, production, and accessory system. This initiative will support Hanoi and Vietnamese businesses participating in INVENTEC's global production chain and its partners.

The group's leader stated that the project would rely on local supplies while also focusing on developing high-quality human resources through targeted training programs, particularly in the technology field. Once operational, the project is expected to significantly impact the local economy.
