Supporting 130 billion VND for ten storms and floods-hit provinces
The amount of 130 billion VND will be used to support families and repair essential infrastructures in ten provinces affected by storms and floods in September and October 2015.
The Prime Minister has decided to allocate 130 billion VND sourced from the 2015 State budget to help ten provinces repairing their damaged essential infrastructures affected by storms and floods from September and October last year.
These provinces include provinces of Cao Bang, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh, Vinh Phuc and Ninh Binh in the northern region and the central provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Quang Nam.
In addition, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance to provide 20 tonnes of vegetable seeds for Thanh Hoa province to support flood victims to restore their production.
People’s Committees of centrally-run cities and provinces are required to use the aid, their own budget and other legal capital resources for right purposes and subjects, as well as report the results to the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control.
The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs is assigned to collaborate with the Ministry of Finance to assist households whose houses were destroyed or their relatives killed and injured by natural disasters.
Storms and floods in September and October last year left 23 people dead and missing and damaged 94 houses, over 15,900 hectares of rice and nearly 8,500 hectares of crops. The total economic losses was estimated at more than 1.315 trillion VND.
