Studying mathematics to earn a living, not to take exams
Tuan Minh - Trung Anh 21:45, 2017/10/23
That is the assertion of Prof. Do Duc Thai, a member of the new General Education Development Board, Editor of Mathematics.
Professor Thai said that his mathematics chapter after 2017 will address one of the biggest reasons why Vietnamese are good but still poor. The new Mathematics curriculum will move from content accessing to learner capacity development.

Good performance but also a lot of concern. The Vietnamese are good at math and science, but they do not leave any marks in the top of their minds in Mathematics or Science, until the first imprint of Professor Ngo Bao Chau.

Professor Do Duc Thai pointed out: "The new mathematics curriculum was designed to play the role of a" fishing rod ", which can help people to make a living, to help students be creative and adaptable to any changes of society. Therefore, the new mathematics program will revolve around four distinct philosophies: streamlining, practical, modern, creative. No new program will introduce new knowledge units. The change is much less than it is today and we aim to educate mathematics on the future of every human being, not on examinations. This is also the most important factor in starting a business, associated with all future work of each person.

In order to create creativity and problem-solving skills for mathematicians, according to Prof. Thai, it takes a certain amount of space and time for them to learn by themselves and transform their knowledge and skills into their own. Studying too much time to self-transform. "Therefore, math in the new program was built on the principle of knowledge grade 1 will push to grade 2-3 and continue until the 11th grade to 12. Content to grade 12 is available out of high school. We cannot bring mathematical science to high school. I cannot bring my own knowledge to catch the students," he said.
