Spring Book Festival 2019 in Hanoi to feature 300,000 books
The event is aimed at honoring the cultural values and tradition of reading by showcasing meaningful and interesting materials for book lovers and providing opportunities for publishers to introduce new books directly to readers.
The Spring Book Festival 2019, set to take place in Mot alley in Thai Ha street, Hanoi from February 15 to 17, will feature 300,000 books from different genres, including literature, history, manga, science, textbooks and cookbooks.
The books are the latest releases of Alpha Books, Nha Nam, ETS and The Youth Publishing Houses.
The festival will offer thousands of books with attractive prices and discounts from 30 to 60% for readers. Additionally, book lovers will be able to buy books at discounted prices of VND5,000 to 20,000 (US$0.215 to 0.86) per book at one-price book booths.
The highlight of the program will be the offering of books to readers at the beginning of the year. Accordingly, every day, the organizers will give 50 books to 50 readers, on the first-come-first-served basis.

In 2018, the Spring Book Festival was held at Vietnam Women’s Museum, Hanoi, from March 28 to April 1. At that time, visitors had a chance to access nearly 40,000 books in different fields such as culture, education, politics, economics, literature, foreign languages, psychology and healthcare.
At the event, readers could have a talk with a monk who built a 5,000 book library in a pagoda which drew children, old people, women and students to come for reading; a retired teacher who collected thousands of books and established dozens of reading sites nationwide; a teacher coached a club of students in the northern province of Bac Giang and raised funds by selling handicrafts and collecting old papers; and a student from a secondary school, to share experiences in building and managing a reading club.
