Revealing nominees for Devotion Music Awards 2016

The Vietnam News Agency’s the Sport and Culture newspaper, the organising board, held a press conference in Hanoi on March 24 to unveil the list of nominations for the Devotion Music Awards 2016.
The Devotion Music Awards aim to celebrate the innovative efforts of the country’s most dedicated musicians.
Nominees are chosen by 100 cultural journalists based on their creativity and practical contribution to public music.
Beside such traditional categories as Best song of the year, New artist, Best album, Best series of music programmes, Best television music show, Best musician and Best singer of the year, the 11th awards will present a new category of Best Music Video.

Deputy Chief of the Organising Board Duc Trinh shared: "A new award, which will be handed out at this year's event, has been considered in  the past years. At present, music products in the form of music videos have been very eventful. This category can also go a long way with the awards."
Nominations for this new category include “Buong doi tay nhau ra”, “Mona Lisa”, “Ngay mai” and “That bat ngo”.
Specially, in 8 categories of the 11th awards, singer Son Tung M-TP appears in 4 categories, including: Best Music Video, Best song of the year, Best Television Music Show and Best singer of the year.

“Am tham ben em” by Son Tung M-TP, “My everything” by Tien Tien, “That bat ngo” by Mew Amazing, and “Toi thay hoa vang tren co xanh” by Chau Dang Khoa, will compete for the Best Song of the Year award.
The category for the New Artist of the Year sees four contenders, comprising the winner of Vietnam Idol 2015 Trong Hieu, runner-up of The Remix 2015 Isaac, DJ and music producer Hoang Touliver, and musician and singer Tien Tien.
“Bai ca khong quen” by Duc Tuan, “Pha” by Pham Anh Khoa, “Bong toi Jazz” by Giang Son, Tran Thu Ha and Tung Duong, and “Streets Rhythm” by Ha Anh Tuan will vie for the Best Album of the Year.
Meanwhile, “Bai hat Viet” (Vietnamese songs), “Giai dieu tu hao” (Melodies of Pride), “Monsoon Music Festival 2015” and “The Remix” are nominated for the Best Music Programme Series award.
Five music programmes nominated for the Best Television Music Show award are “Cua so am nhac-Bai hat ru mua dong” by musician Duong Thu, the live concert “Hong Nhung: Pho a pho oi…Bong a bong oi” by Max Media JSC, “Master of Symphony” by Thao Dien JSC, “Thap ky hoan ca” by Tung Duong and “M-TP Ambition-Chuyen bay dau tien” by Son Tung M-TP. 
Nominees of the Best Musician of the Year are Mew Amazing (Duc Hung), Giang Son, Vo Thien Thanh and Quoc Trung.
Divas Hong Nhung and Tran Thu Ha, Divo Tung Duong, and singer Son Tung M-TP are nominated for the Best Singer of the Year.
The Devotion Music Awards was initiated in 2005 by the Sport and Culture newspaper.
The award ceremony is scheduled to be organised at the FLC Sam Son Beach and Golf Resort in the central province of Thanh Hoa province on April 23.
