Redress and Clothes-swap promotes green dress
At the event, the old, boring or unfit outfits may get retouched and restyled into more interesting garments according to eco-friendly ways.
Participants can have their closets revived and get into the green-living ideas through some figures mentioned at the Redress and Clothes-swap event.
The Redress and Clothes-swap event hosted by the Sweden Alumni Network Vietnam and Chula Fashion takes place on September 29 in Tay Ho district, Hanoi.
The event is inspired by the Sweden clothes-swapping day, which is arranged annually by the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation since 2010.
At the event, the old, boring or unfit outfits may get retouched and restyled into more interesting garments according to eco-friendly ways, as a result, participants can keep using the dress or exchange them with others, thereby helping extend the clothes’ life and avoid more waste discharged to the environment.
According to the organizers, people can save 15kg of carbon dioxide, 10,000 to 15,000 liters of water and 2.7kg of chemicals just by swapping or extending lifespan of 1kg of garments instead of buying new ones as the process of producing and transporting clothes requires lots of water, energy, and chemicals.
Under the framework of the event, there are also some interesting activities including fashion show, tea tasting, minigame, and talking shop about sustainable fashion by Sweden designer and fashion expert.
