The central province of Quang Nam has set plan to welcome vaccinated international tourists as the Summer holiday is approaching.
This is a key part of the province’s proposal sent to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently. If it’s approved, Quang Nam would become Vietnam's first locality to receive foreign visitors with ‘vaccine passport’, opening up opportunities to promote the national tourism.

According to Chairman of Quang Nam People's Committee Le Tri Thanh, the province wishes to welcome vaccinated international visitors with negative Covid-19 test results who can stay in two cordoned off resorts and be securely escorted around.
“Visitors having a negative test of coronavirus will travel to Hoiana resort (in Duy Xuyen district) and Tui Blue Nam Hoi An hotel and resort (Nui Thanh district) via Chu Lai airport on charter flights, staying there for five to 10 days, complying with pandemic prevention regulations,” said Thanh.
“Chu Lai airport is eligible to add necessary equipment to receive charter flights. These two resorts are isolated and far away from residential areas, which were inspected by the National Administration of Tourism,” he added.
In the first phase, Quang Nam would host Korean guests first, then expand to other international markets later.
According to Deputy Director of Quang Nam Department of Health Nguyen Van, the plan to welcome guests has been carefully prepared by the province’s relevant authorities.
“Passengers will be transport in by car without on-way breaks. The pandemic prevention measures at resort are enforced in a similar way to those in a concentrated quarantine area,” he said.

Earlier, Vietnam had already worked with some countries on the acceptance of “vaccine passport” through QR-code.
Once the “Covid-19 vaccine passport” scheme is implemented, people need to bring their citizen identification card or provide their health insurance number to verify personal information when conducting Covid-19 vaccination.
When getting vaccinated, people have to download a “health care app” from Apple Store or Google Play to their smart phones; sign in the app by giving the personal information to get their own QR codes. After two injections, the relevant information is recorded on the QR code.
The Ministry of Health continues to work with foreign health agencies to facilitate trade activities and travel for those who have been vaccinated.
