PM Dung: Vietnam always greatly values chemistry talents

In the era of rapidly developing science and technology, greater attention should be paid to promoting chemical sciences nationally and globally, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has emphasized.
In his address at a July 28 closing ceremony of the 46th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO 2014) in Hanoi, PM Dung said education-training and science- technology are identified as the top national policy. The Vietnamese Government always pays heed to developing scientific and technological talents, including talented chemists.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Government, PM Dung welcomed distinguished guests, scientists, teachers and students coming from 77 countries and territories in the world for the 46th International Chemistry Olympiad which was first held in the capital city.
"To develop chemical sciences, it is essential to have talented people with an intense passion for innovative research. The International Chemistry Olympiad is a good opportunity to discover talents, honor and spur the stronger development of chemical sciences. Therefore, this is a great honor for Vietnam to host such an international competition for young chemistry talents from every corner of the world." Dung emphasized.
The Government leader said he hopes that many contestants would become excellent scientists, leaders and talented managers who will have great dedication to the country’s prosperity and development.
Dung also took this occasion to thank the International Chemistry Olympiad's Steering Committee and relevant agencies and organizations for their close coordination in the successful organization of the event.
At the closing ceremony, the IChO 2014 organizing board presented gold, silver, and bronze medals along with 10 consolation prizes to the contestants.
