The pan-Asia sea cable route with a data transmission speed of 3.84 Tbit/second will land in Vietnam tomorrow, June 14, to enhance the country’s connection to Asian countries and territories like Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, the Philippines, etc.

Vietnam’s EVNTelecom group invested in this route, which is being installed by the VSNL International or TATA Communications at present.

Vo Quang Lam, who is in charge of EVNTelecom’s pan-Asia cable project, said the firm will invest $30 million in the construction of the major cable, which costs a total of $120 million, to have the right to use a capacity of 50Gbps.

EVNTelecom will build a cable landing station in the southern coastal city of Vung Tau to enable its connection to Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan.

The pan-Asia will allow EVNTelecom to connect directly to the TGN-Pacific cable system and some cable landing stations in the US.
