In response to the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration, this year's Science Film Festival on Ecosystem Restoration will be held in Vietnam from October 10 to the end of December.

Other documentaries include "The Plastic Challenge" (Chile); "Pia and Wild Nature - The Miraculous Creatures of the Namib Desert" (Germany); "Wild Hope - Coffee for Water" (USA); "Sea Foam: What Causes this Land Bubble Bath" (Australia), and others.

As in previous years, the films will be available online throughout the festival on the Goethe-Institut's VIMEO platform. Schoolchildren, students, and the interested public are invited to explore this year's theme: Ecosystem Restoration.

The Science Film Festival is a celebration of science communication in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. In collaboration with local partners, it promotes science literacy and awareness of contemporary scientific, technological, and environmental issues through international films and accompanying educational activities.

The festival presents scientific topics in an accessible and entertaining way to a wide audience and shows that science can be fun. Since its first edition in 2005, the event has grown considerably to become the world's largest event of its kind.

The festival presents a wide range of films for all ages, with a focus on content for young audiences, in five categories: Family Edutainment; Ecology & Environment; Natural Science, Life Science & Technology; Non-Verbal & Science Shorts; and Culture & History.
